Current Crushes: Shoe Edition w/c 5th March 2018

This week, what's really stood out to me on the high street are the new spring shoes. While the weather may still be too cold to bare our toes, its no excuse not to peek at or even indulge in the new sandals, heels and pastel boots currently in the shops!

These beauties are from everyone's favourite bargain high street shop. Primark has hit a high note with their strappy sandals which come in black, blush pink and tan. They might look familiar to some, and that's because they are a brilliantly close dupe of Chloe's Jamie strappy knot sandal from 2016. They were recreated by Mango and Topshop that year, and I always kicked myself for not buying a pair from Mango as they were dead similar. However, Primark has brought these back this season for €16, and I've already bought the black and the tan. These lovelies will go with everything in your summer wardrobe, and are super comfy to wear all day, making them the perfect holiday companion.

These super chic polka dot strappy sandals are from Mango. The wooden detailing on them screams holiday, and the silk straps and ties look far more expensive and designer than the high street price tag. These sandals would look great with cropped light wash denim, as well as a white linen dress with a nice tan to match. The mustard colour way is also a nod to one of the hottest hues of the season, and a great way to inject it into your wardrobe, especially if you find the colour tricky with clothing.

Marks and Spencers have really impressed with this cone heel sling back court shoe. The almond toe and the kitten heel ticks all the boxes, and the contrast white heel is a nice added touch. The V cut of these heels is super flattering on the foot and adds a real understated elegance to any outfit. I would wear these with a pair of ankle length jeans, slightly distressed and a blazer to off set the ladylike vibes of the shoe. It's also a great shoe for a wedding or work, as the comfortable heel height almost guarantees that you'll be able to be on your feet all day.

This ASOS mule is giving off serious Balenciaga and Gianvito Rossi vibes. In a striking jade green colour, its a great shoe to brighten up a simple all black outfit, or wear it with pink, a great new colour combo to try out. These 'Sandy' heeled mules are only £25, and also come in black and white stripes. Green is currently all over the high street, and a great way to include a trend colour is by wearing it as an accessory - much easier and less scary than committing to a whole outfit.

These leather knot strappy heeled sandals from Topshop have a stylish nod to the eighties. I don't know why, but i'm really drawn to them and think they look so elegant and chic. I love any shoe with a flat rectangle heel, and these are a great 3 inch height. They would look so beautiful with a floral wrap dress, or anything in a midi length. However, don't just relegate these to girly looks; you can rock these with a checked trouser suit as well as my favourite denim. These are also available in green leather.

I'm sure you all know and have seen, pastels are all over the place this season, and lilac is one of the stand out colours. This is a great way to ease the colour into your wardrobe, as many women have a slight aversion to the pastel Easter egg shades. What gives this pair of heels a stylish edge is the geometric block heel in the same lilac tone. Designer brands have really taken to the interest heel this season with brands like Loewe and Rejina Pyo using round geometric shapes for heels. The lower height gives it styling versatility, think midis, straight leg jeans and culottes. Its also a great option for a work shoe -something that will set you apart from the rest for all the right reasons.

Sticking with the pastel suede theme is this gorgeous ice blue ankle boot from H&M. This is my favourite pastel shade, as I think it's so versatile and can be worn easily in spring as well as in winter. Wear with white, grey, denim, navy, black, blush - take your pick they would all look great. Its also a really great heel height at just under 3 inches, making it super comfy for all day wear. These also come in white leather and beige suede. Only caveat - they are quite narrow at the top so beware!

OK, these are a bit crazy, but I love them! When you have an all black outfit, like I often do, a pair of shoes like this is the best solution to bring it to life. You know what they say, leopard print is a neutral, and it never goes out of style. These seventies inspired heels, might look high, but with the platform at the front, it actually makes for a pretty comfortable wear. The wide cross over straps, ankle buckle and platform is right out of the seventies play book, and is a very similar to Prada's version (check them out here). You can stick with the seventies theme and pair these with flared jeans (Topshop do a great version - Jamie Flares), tucked in button down shirt and a blazer.
