Current Crushes: The Natural Trend

Updated: May 25, 2018

I am completely out of my comfort zone with some of my fashion choices right now, but i'm loving it. I've never been one to take a shine to beige, cream and mustard, but this season, the shops have been inundated with these colours, and i'm really starting to embrace them. Here are some of my current favourites, some which are in my saved shopping baskets, and some which I've already purchased.

Bows are everywhere at the moment, especially on shoes. What else is everywhere? That would be one of the hottest hues this season: mustard. Mango have done a great job of combining the two in these stylish flat suede mules. They would look fab paired with denim ankle grazers, or a linen suit for a really paired back look. I'll probably wear these with black jeans and a black v neck tee so these mules will really pop.

How perfect is this dress? I just love the elegant simplicity of it with the pretty buttons and the flattering v neck and short sleeves. It's one of those styles that can be worn on multiple occasions. You can dress it down in a pair of tan leather sandals, or dress it up for a wedding/christening in a pair of strappy ankle tie heels.

This is the ASOS skeleton bucket bag. It comes with a longer strap as well so you can wear it cross body. Its a fab size which allows you to lug all your daily stuff around with you, but it also makes a great fashionable impact with its cut out details and cream cotton drawstring bag. Its the sort of bag that can match everything, so if you're a one bag type of gal and aren't a fan of constantly swapping your belongings, this ASOS bag has your back.

I don't often find stuff in M&S apart from their ever reliable underwear, but this linen look blazer has blown me away. I'm obsessed with buttons and tortoise shell at the moment, so this blazer ticks all the boxes. Its a lovely soft, yet structured fabric, and the cut is spot on, so its an incredibly flattering blazer. It's really good quality as well, with a great amount of linen content. Dress it up or down, its definitely worth the money. It also comes in navy, and surprise surprise, I've already ordered it!

No joke, I've been waiting for this bag to come in stock since March. It is the dream summer bag, and guaranteed to last you a lot longer than the raffia bags that are all the rage at the moment. This Mango beauty is reminiscent of the very Instagrammable Staud Bucket Bag, and it also comes in a white and a black. Disappointingly it's not made of leather, but it's a great dupe. This bag will take you from city to beach and is a perfect sized bag for your holiday, fitting a camera, phone, wallet, and all your make up bits.

These leather and PVC heeled sandals just arrived in the post and i'm very smitten. With PVC still being very much on trend this season, the plastic strap acts as a leg lengthener, meaning your pins go on for days. I'm going to be wearing mine for wedding season, as the block heel and padded sole makes this a pretty comfortable pair of heels. However, they will look great with a pair of jeans, white, lightwash, black - you name it, this tan leather goes with everything. The only small negative, is the plastic strap across the foot is a little tight on me, which makes me feel a little conscious my blood circulation is being cut off, but i'm sure its nothing a few wears around the house won't solve.

This guipure lace applique dress is a great summer staple. Everyone should have a white dress in their wardrobe for summer, but one which you can wear casually and also wear formally is the way to go. Dressed down, this dress would look amazing with a lightwash denim jacket, tan leather sandals and a basket bag. If you're going somewhere smarter, you can pair this with the leather PVC heels from above, a blazer, and you've got yourself a super easy and comfortable smarter look. This dress also comes in a ochre yellow.

My mango obsession continues with this wooden handle fringe clutch. I love the texture that the fringe adds, contrasted with the dark wooden frame. It would make the perfect companion to a linen suit, and would look fab with a linen dress with horn button details. I've always wanted to be one of those ladies that use a clutch bag casually and not just for fancy events, so maybe the time has finally come?

I can't resist a pair of stacked wooden heels, and this pair from Topshop is no exception. I'm loving the pistachio coloured leather and the v cut of the mule, which is extremely flattering on the leg. How would you match these mules? The question is what can't you pair them with. Pistachio matches with tan and other brown shades, black, blues, reds, beige, and of course white. These would look amazing with a pair of mid wash wide leg culotte jeans and a horn button down cami. They also come in pink and also a beige suede.
